To kick off 2013 in style, the Gents are undertaking something bold, and slightly beautiful.
It’s been a whole week, but kolo t.c. is back and slightly better than before. There’s an entire book full of ideas for 2013, and numero uno on it is to start the year off with more challenges. If you’ve been looking forward to a tough, fun, and impressive 2013 season, it’s time to start. Now.
For starters, we’ll be piggy-backing once again with Strava to put in the very first Gent’s Club event of the year. Base Miles aren’t a ton of fun, unless you make them fun. In Michigan, riding in January is like a daily excursion into the arctic, so miles are tough to come by. So, it only makes sense to turn it into a competition.
Starting January 1 and lasting all month, log miles using your Strava account. In order to get entered into our competition, you’ll also need to join the kolo t.c. Gentleman’s Club on Strava. The Club has grown from six members last June to 73 this winter, and we plan on taking over the world in 2013.
There will also be a number of group rides this month to help everyone get more miles in. New Year’s Day, we will join Einstein Cycles for the New Year’s Day Ride. Meet up at the VASA 25km Loop in Traverse City, Michigan for a three to four hour adventure ride on fat bikes, 29ers, 26ers and yes, a few CX bikes. There’s just no better way to ring in the New Year than on your bicycle. We won’t be starting until eleven a.m., so there’s a bit of time to get rid of your hang over before joining what has been described as a “death march”.
And what will you win if you log the most miles? You’ll get a $25 gift card to Einstein Cycles, courtesy of kolotc.com. You’ll probably need to replace you gloves. Seriously. That is a lot of cold and snot.
