Tirreno-Adriatico separated the men from the superhumans yesterday on the slopes of twin 1st Category climbs. The race circles the town of Offida today for 181km and features a 7% kick for 2km at roughly 4km before the finish. Race leader Chris Horner shouldn’t have a problem holding keep the blue jersey today, but the sprinters may not have their way. With the kick before the line, an opportunist may get away, and a strong man like Peter Sagan should be well-positioned to make it over the hump and still have the legs for a bunch sprint. This isn’t the type of race that suits Mark Cavendish. Early race reports say he made an early breakaway, and later retired from the race to begin his work for Milan-San Remo.

Tirreno-Adriatico Stage 6 will go live today at about 10am EST, but Eurosport is actually replaying yesterday’s stage now, so catch yourself up. English feed is right here.
