2011 in Review: Cyclocross World Championships

We talk a small liberty this happy Friday by dipping just barely into 2012 for this review. Zdenek Stybar has two very important things going to him to garner favor on the illustrious site of kolo tc. The first is that he is extremely fast. He was the 2011 cyclocross World Champion. Secondly, he is Czech. Those two attributes are extremely valuable assets for getting on a site named in the Czech language.

We revisit an interesting video from Specialized discussing Stybar’s new bike and his preparations for the World Championships. Stybar was prepped to defend his 2011 title on a new bike that was a flashy pink that raised a few curious eyebrows, but beneath the paint is a Crux frame and top secret components that probably won’t grace your cyclocross bike for a few years, if you can’t afford it. And you probably can’t. Below the interview is the entire championship race. As noted on the video, the audio is dreadful for about three minutes but cleans up nicely. If necessary, skip to the last 20 minutes.
