2011 Review: Stage 7 of the Tour of California

Mt. Baldy. There was no way of knowing that being hair-challenged would end up being a requirement for success on the hardest climb the Amgen Tour of California ever attempted. With Chris Horner already entrenched in the yellow leader’s jersey and Levi Leipheimer riding on top form, RadioShack knew it was in good shape heading into the stage. American Teejay Van Garderen lit up the stage early on with a furious attack, but the work of Ben King and Matthew Busche set up the Elderly Statesmen Horner and Leipheimer to lay down the pain as the climb hit 13% in gradient.
